Roof skylight of the production hall of Conhpol Stanisław Górny near Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - July 2021. Covering the skylight with transparent polycarbonate panels on the south side in order to reduce the hall's heating on sunny and hot days, and to eliminate the dazzling sunlight entering the hall, without loss of daylight quality in the hall.
The goal has been achieved.
The investor expressed the wish to paint with a transparent varnish that diffuses the sun's rays only on one side, when the sun touches the southern slope of the long roof skylight. First, the polycarbonate plates were washed from the old protective coating - peeling white emulsion paint, with poor adhesion to the PC - polycarbonate. Then the boards were degreased and covered with a colorless water-soluble varnish containing dispersed nanosilica and thermoactive microspheres.A coating with very good adhesion to the PC was obtained, resistant to UV radiation of the sun, dissipating the sun's rays without losing brightness and noticeably reducing the heating of the hall, which was confirmed by the employees working there on the Conhpol shoe production lines.
Thanks to the thermally insulating effect of the microspheres, the hall will not heat up too much in the summer, and in the winter the hall will cool down much more slowly, with the benefit of saving air-conditioning/heating costs.
Painting works with our pure acrylic water-based varnish Thermoactive Akrypolak colorless mat with insulating properties was made by the company Proalp Bielsko-Biała under the substantive supervision of Yumacom in July 2021.
